TIP OF THE MONTH

March - April 2008

Probably the biggest stumbling block for people who have completed a comprehensive anger management program is that occasional feeling of discouragement. Perhaps an angry event occurs, and we feel guilty because we failed to use some of the tools and concepts taught by our program. While this feeling of discouragement is quite normal, it should be considered only as one incident in the total process. People who make major positive changes in their lives always experience some setbacks and challenges. Remember when you have those discouraging moments not just to look at how far you have to go, but also look at how far you have come. Simply stated, don’t dwell on the negatives. Give yourself credit for the overall progress you have already achieved. Remember, anger management is not an exact science. There will be some victories and defeats, but the overall result is what is most important. Good anger management IS achievable. YOU CAN WIN OVER ANGER!
